My theory is that VWs have become popular to stance because of all the cars available to mommy and daddy's 19-year-old state college-peer-pressure-susceptible-I-wanna-be-a-bro-says-he-lost-virginity-at-"15"-wanna-be-urbanite-from-a-midwestern-town-shithead the Golf/Passat suffers the least from the handling by dropping it to the ground.

As far as cars go at my school. Most people have their parents buy them their car, or they do what I do and split the cost. I do wish some of the kids with more expensive cars were cooler, that way I can talk to them. I live next to a GTR owner, and he gives a ever so slight douche vibe.

Yep. I think it works because the styling of the Golf is pretty round, soft, and smooth, like the rims. Don't think it would look so good on a WRX :)
